Two people sit on stage in front of a red curtain. One is surrounded by white crystal singing bowls, and the other sits beside electronic equipment. Both are smiling, seated on the floor under stage lighting.

About the Event

We spend much of our lives moving quickly from one thing to the next. This monthly series offers something different.

Begin with an immersive sound bath of crystal singing bowls and modular synthesizers in the Autry Theater. Then carry that quieter state into the museum galleries, where a featured artwork, object, or installation becomes the focus of a guided practice in sustained attention. Simple prompts invite you to linger, notice, and experience the museum in a different way.

Inspired by the galleries, each month we explore a different way of engaging with the Autry’s collections and exhibitions—from mindful looking and deep listening to noticing relationships, staying with uncertainty, and strengthening our capacity for sustained attention.

Gallery admission is included, and you are welcome to continue exploring the museum at your own pace for the rest of the day.

About the Artist

Modular Sound Bath is a duo interested in raising vibrations via direct tonal healing. Their sound baths stimulate the body and mind, bringing participants into a more balanced and aware state of being. The steadiness of the crystal singing bowls pairs beautifully with the varied arrangements available with modular synthesis, sometimes melding the frequencies seamlessly and sometimes adding texture to the relaxing hum of the bowls. @modularsoundbath

Upcoming Sound Bath Experience dates: November 8, and December 13, 2026.
