About the Event

Join us for our music in the morning program!

Twice a month, the Autry will host a children’s music workshop presented by Tim Hancock in the Family Play Space.

We will be offering one morning music class:

For kids ages 0 – 3.5
Exposure to a variety of music by singing and moving, listening to action songs that exemplify beat and pitch. Learn the fundamentals of music using Boomwhackers percussion tubes to play songs.

These morning music workshops aim to demonstrate musical fundamentals such as rhythm, harmony, pitch, tempo, and dynamics through listening, singing, dancing, and playing actual musical instruments. This hands-on experience utilizes child-friendly tools such as color-coded charts and basic percussion instruments to ensure that even toddlers can participate in a meaningful and beneficial way.

About the Instructor

Tim Hancock has over 16 years of experience in music education and e-learning. After teaching guitar and ukulele in the classroom, Tim joined Fender Musical Instruments Corporation in 2019. He has helped to create and implement Fender Play’s curriculum to several education programs including LAUSD, positively impacting students and teachers globally. To date, he has taught thousands of students of all ages and abilities, supporting them to progress through their playing journey.
