About the Event

Performed by Rogue Artists Ensemble, Cowboy Elektra reimagines Greek tragedy through an early Californian lens, exploring revenge, cycles of trauma, and women’s experience in the “Old West.” Set against the backdrop of late 1800s California, when the railroad was on the verge of reaching Los Angeles, Elektra must fight for her freedom and identity within the borders of a wild and ever-changing young city. This program is a reading of a play-in-progress followed by a talkback with the artists.
