Join Yarn Bombing Los Angeles for a drop-in evening of creativity and community as we assemble a yarn art installation, celebrating the native plants on display in the California Continued Ethnobotanical Garden. Tools and materials for this collaborative stitching activity will be provided.
Embrace the joys of community-based collaboration as we gather to repurpose and assemble pom-poms and stitched, crocheted, and knitted floral and plant elements, transforming the Autry’s mezzanine with a colorful yarn art installation. Celebrating the native plants on display in the Autry’s outdoor California Continued Ethnobotanical Garden, the mezzanine installation beckons visitors to pause and reflect upon the beauty of the Garden and the world around us.
Similar to a quilting bee, we invite you to enjoy the peaceful rhythm of stitching, share tips and stories, and contribute to a vibrant, whimsical display. No knowledge of knitting or crocheting is required. Tools and materials for this collaborative stitching activity will be provided. Bring your creativity and your sense of fun as we brighten up the Autry one vibrant stitch at a time!
